Text

Introduction.

It has been a long time since I have lifted a pen to record anything of myself except to write events in letters and now I am not lifting a pen but a common ordinary brown pencil. It seems to me a pity that now these bright glorious days at college when so much of interest is going on and I am learning so much, or doing so much in this busy scramble after knowledge -- it seems a pity that i have no left a little [?] of how I felt and what I did and thought as the days went by. It has occurred to me that perhaps if I write in pencil I may feel more free to jot down a word here and there and consequently I have decided to start another book; not perhaps as binding as a diary or even a journal, but i[sic] little combination of journal and memory book in which I can make a brief word of important events, have space for an occasional picture or clipping, and in short, have a book of my own.
