Monday, June 5
This was the day of the Home Economics exhibit and the big school of music recital.
The most interesting thing about the former was the fashion walk in which the pretty gowns and their makers were revealed as living fashion plates. Elsie was in that in a dainty white organdie[sic].
The demonstrations a little later were also very good.
This evening I enjoyed the music recital very much. There is surely some good work done in that department.
Found Mary Floyd's Chi Omega pin for her today. Felt quite elated.
Tuesday, June 6
This was the day of more than one important event. This afternoon was the Class Day program which was indeed very pretty. The Seniors took this time to dedicate the wonderful new gates which they present as a memorial to the institution. They gave some very good speeches of dedication and wound the new fates with a chain of daisies, their class flower. In this they were assisted by members of their dear sister class dressed in white dresses, yellow sashes and black slippers and stockings. I had the good fortunes to be in this as Katherine Smith's daisy chain girl. The Senior Normals had a part in the program for it was their class day too. The last thing was the cap and gown ceremony in which the Seniors placed the caps and gowns on the Juniors. This was very impressive. It was all very nice and well carried out.
This evening we had the joint meeting of the literary societies, and as it was Minerva's turn to preside, I found it was "up to me". We thought we were going to have a nice business meeting at which we would make some definite plans for the improvement
