Text

Foreward.

Things worthy to be remembered:
Indeed, what shall I say
When every moment is brimming full
With such each golden day?
Things worthy to be remembered!
This volume is far too small
To even hold a beginning
Could I but tell them all:
Responsibilities, labots,
Successes, some failures too
Comradeship real and lasting
And pleasures deep and true.
A few little scattered mementoes
Remain the tale to tell
And here in this book collected
Perform the task right well.
And things not found herein--
A large and worthy part--
Are written deep in letter of gold
In the memory book of my heart.
